Congratulations! You have found a software that fulfills a gap in your business needs. Now comes the exciting time of implementing the software and reaping the benefits. You may assume that the time for research and big decisions is over, but, some things still need to be considered or put in place to maximize your return on investment.
No matter what phase in the purchasing process you are in, never lose sight of what you want to achieve. You are enlisting this software for a purpose; make sure that purpose is at the front of your implementation strategy. Ask yourself, “how will this software contribute to my organization?”
A simple, but effective, way to ensure your software implementation is in line with your company objectives is to define your SMART goals in relation to the product’s ability.

When you take the time to define these goals, you save yourself from many of the growing pains that can accompany a new software installation. You will enter the implementation phase with your eyes open and your expectations realistic.
